What We Know: Webster County voters will decide in November whether to keep a half-cent sales tax for county roads and bridges.
What It Means: The tax has been around since 1986 and has been renewed four times.
County Clerk Stan Whitehurst says the money pays for road and bridge work, materials and equipment.
What’s Next: The proposal would keep the current tax in place for another 10 years.
Whitehurst says if it fails, the county would face job cuts and have less money for road work.
Voters will decide the issue on November 3.
