What We Know: A woman from Lawrence County is facing several charges after police say she nearly hit a Pierce City patrol vehicle head-on and then led an officer on a high-speed chase.
What It Means: Court records show Jamie Earp from Pierce City has been charged with three felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child, along with felony drug possession and aggravated fleeing a stop. She also faces a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge.
According to the probable cause statement, the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. Aug. 10 near Commercial Street and Lawrence County Road 2230.

What’s Next: When the officer turned on the emergency lights and siren, police say Earp took off.
Investigators say speeds reached between 80 and 90 miles per hour during the pursuit, with the driver allegedly running several stop signs and failing to stay in her lane.
Police say the truck eventually stopped near Wallaby and Gum Road in Newton County. Earp allegedly ran into a field with three juveniles who had been inside the vehicle.
Officers later took Earp into custody.
During a search of the vehicle, investigators say they found drug paraphernalia and a bag containing a crystal-like substance. Authorities say the substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.
