A woman from Joplin has died and 9 others were injured in a two-car crash in Laclede County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that the crash happened Saturday evening around 6 pm when a northbound SUV carrying 4 people hydroplaned, spun around, and crossed the center line.
The vehicle was struck in the back by a southbound pickup truck carrying 6 people, sending the SUV into a ditch.
Occupants of both vehicles were taken to the hospital, where a 27-year-old woman from Joplin riding in the SUV later died.
Two occupants in the SUV, a 45-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman from Vancouver, WA, and three in the pickup truck, a 16-year-old girl from Conway, MO, a 21-year-old woman from Buffalo, MO, and a 23-year-old man from Niangua, MO, sustained serious injuries.
The rest of the occupants of both vehicles, a 23-year-old man from Joplin, an 8-year-old boy from Conway, and a 22-year-old woman from Long Lane, MO, and a 35-year-old woman from Conway sustained minor injuries.
