What We Know: A Springfield woman has died following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night.
Springfield police say the crash happened just before 11 p.m. at Kearney and Benton.
What It Means: Investigators say the driver of a Chevy Traverse was heading east on Kearney and tried to turn left into a business. The SUV crossed into the path of a Mercedes heading west.
Both drivers suffered life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in the Traverse, 34-year-old Tesia Ta of Springfield, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
What’s Next: Police are still investigating what led to the crash. They say speeding and impairment are suspected factors involving the driver of the Mercedes.

This was Springfield’s 12th deadly traffic crash of the year, resulting in 13 deaths.
