From inflation to consumer confidence and spending, to neighborhoods opposing developments, a panel of six CEO’s and business owners sat down over lunch Thursday for a candid discussion on the issues facing our local and regional economy.

Zimmer Midwest Communications hosted the quarterly CEO Roundtable at our studios at 3000 east Chestnut Expressway in Springfield.

The overriding theme for the roundtable was “Challenges Facing Local Businesses Heading into 2025,” with discussion centered around the economic climate both locally and nationally, the upcoming Presidential election and the affect it will have on the economy, and how economic conditions impact local businesses, the people they hire and the mindset of their consumers.

On a sliding scale of 1 to 100, our CEO’s ranked their level of optimism in the local/regional economy anywhere from a 25 to a 100.
