A federal grand jury has indicted an 18-year-old man from Springfield for illegally possessing a firearm that’s connected to two shootings in Springfield.
Jayden Simmonds is charged with one count of being an unlawful user of a controlled substance while possessing a firearm.
Investigators say the gun was stolen from a vehicle in December of 2023 and is connected to two separate shootings in August of 2024.
