A man from Springfield is sentenced to 15 years in prison after entering an “Alford” plea to felony DWI charges stemming from a 2021 crash that killed two people.

Gary Calhoun was driving North on Glenstone when he crossed the center line, and smashed into a car driven by Amber Kendall, and a truck driven by Felix Gonzalez.

Gonzalez died at the scene, and Kendall died in a hospital shortly after.

An Alford plea is not an admission of guilt, but acknowledges that evidence would likely lead to a guilty verdict.
