A firefighter from Preston, Missouri is being treated at a hospital after being thrown from a firetruck during a rollover crash on Saturday.
Authorities say Jared Bennett, a chief engineer for the department, was driving on Highway D South of Preston, on his way to a fire, when he saw another car coming head on toward the truck in a curve.
Bennett, who is the son of fire Chief Brian Bennett, drove off the road, overcorrected, and the fire truck crossed the center line and crashed into a ditch.
The Chief says Benett is in the trauma ICU awaiting surgery tomorrow.
Another occupant of the fire truck was released from the hospital.
