Over three months after he went missing after being kicked out of a bar in Nashville, the Tennessee Chief Medical Examiner has officially revealed the cause of death for Kickapoo graduate and former Mizzou student Riley Strain.
He and his fraternity brothers were on a trip to Nashville when he was escorted out of a bar downtown on March 8. His body was found two weeks later along the banks of the Cumberland River in West Nashville on March 22.
According to the report, Strain has a blood-alcohol level of .228, which is nearly three times the legal limit of .08 for BAC.
The report also showed that he had Delta 9 in his system, a chemical derived from marijuana.
The medical examiner determined that Strain’s death was accidental. The exact cause of death was listed as “drowning and ethanol intoxication”.
