An Arkansas woman is the Christian County jail after she led officers on a chase.
The City of Nixa says Nixa Police were called to the Blu Current Credit Union on Mt. Vernon for a report of a forgery attempt by a person using the drive thru window.
The suspect, 41-year-old Jessica Dawn Cherry was using an ID stolen in Springfield to cash a $3, 695 check.
When Nixa Police officer approached her vehicle, the suspect attempted to strike an officer with her vehicle.
This led to an approximately 8-mile chase involving three Nixa Police cars that ended with the woman’s arrest on US 65.
Police say Cherry had ID, debit cards and checks stolen from people in Springfield and as far away as Florida.
Cherry is currently being held in the Christian County Jail on $25,000 bond for this incident and a probation violation out of Arkansas.
