Birthplace of Route 66 Festival Begins Tonight

With the annual opening parade at 6:00pm, the 2023 edition of the Birthplace of Route 66 festival is only a few hours away.

The parade will begin at Grant and College Street in Springfield and will end along National Avenue.

Officials say concerts will begin on the Aaron Sachs Motorcycle Village Stage following the parade at 7:00pm, with the Machine Gun Symphony as the opening act.

The festival will run through Saturday night, featuring numerous other concerts and the first ever Great Route 66 Talent Competition.

The winner of the talent show will earn a chance to compete on America’s Got Talent, with the finalists competing at the Shrine Mosque at 1:00pm Saturday afternoon.
