Burn Bans Pour in as Drought Continues, Fire Risks Increase Across SWMO

As we approach nearly 30 days without significant rain in the Ozarks, many counties are putting burn bans in place due to the increase fire risks around the area.

Thursday morning, Webster County issued a burn ban, joining an extensive list of other counties in southwest Missouri that have done the same.

That includes: Barry, Barton, Cedar, Lawrence, and McDonald Counties, among potential others.

Fire officials have said that even if the county you live in has not issued a burn ban to this point, please be safe and refrain from burning if possible.

If you happen to see a fire grow out of control, contact 911 or your local fire department immediately.
