The chances that the Missouri Legislature passes legalized sports betting are getting slimmer.
The current session ends May 13th, and the issue is stalled in the Senate. A major point of contention in the Senate is video lottery games like slot machines, which are illegal and unregulated.
The House passed a bill in March legalizing sports betting with an 8 percent tax on each wager. The Senate version calls for a 10 percent tax and would allow five thousand video lottery games in the state, with no more than seven in any one location.
