What We Know: Big changes are coming to I-44 across the Ozarks, and some of that work could start as early as October.
What It Means: MoDOT plans to widen I-44 to three lanes in each direction from Route 266 to Route B in Webster County.
The first work is expected between Strafford and Conway, weather permitting.
Around Springfield, the project also includes new ramps connecting Grant Avenue to I-44.
Those plans are raising some concerns at Courageous Church, North Campus. Pastor Brandon Rachal says the new ramps could actually make it tougher for people to get to the church.
What’s Next: MoDOT is still taking public comments on the project through October 8.
