It took until mid-October, but we could soon seen temperatures below freezing in southwest Missouri.

The National Weather Service says a cold front is working across the United States this week, and will soon hit the Ozarks. Experts say it has already begun, but will hit hardest this evening into Wednesday morning.

A freeze warning has been issued for most of southwest Missouri, including Greene, Christian, Lawrence, Webster, Dade, and Polk counties.

NWS has estimated low temperatures tonight and early Wednesday morning as low as 29 degrees, with possible wind chills in the low 20’s or upper 10’s.
