Crash Involving Motorcycle Kills One in Springfield

UPDATE:

Investigators say 18-year-old Edward Smith was driving a 2011 Yamaha motorcycle along Glenstone southbound when a Hyundai Elantra turned from Glenstone northbound directly into Smith’s path.

The Elantra was driven by Kim Burbaugh, a 60-year-old woman from Flemington.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene and his family has been notified.

The crash itself is still under investigation.

The Springfield Police Department is investigating a crash involving a car and a motorcycle that killed one.

Officers say the crash happened Monday evening along North Glenstone between Kearney and I-44.
