UPDATE: Victim Identified in Deadly Crash near I-44 between Car and Pedestrian

UPDATE 1:58 pm:

Investigators have identified the pedestrian as 47-year-old James Hamilton, a Springfield native.

The crash happened early Wednesday morning, at around 6 am.

The Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash between a car and a pedestrian near I-44 just East of Chestnut Expressway in Springfield.

Troopers say when they arrived on scene around six Wednesday morning, CPR was being administered to the victim, who later died.
