El Dorado Springs Appoints New Police Chief after Entire Force Resigns

Residents in El Dorado Springs are now welcoming a new chief of police after watching their entire police force leave in the last few months.

Brett Dawn was officially appointed to the role on January 19, while the last two remaining officers on the force of seven are leaving in the next couple of weeks.

Last year, the department saw two officers resign to take positions in Cedar County, two other officers retired, and the police chief resign.

Dawn said he is already working on hiring officers to refill the department, which has been understaffed for over half a year.
