Fire has destroyed a house in Springfield. The home in the 2200 block of North Weller Avenue was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene Sunday.
Firefighters say the roof had already collapsed and fire was coming out of all of the doors and windows. No one was in the house at the time and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Public Works Department tore down what was left of the house for safety reasons.
