Firefighter Hurt While Battling Flames at Strip Mall Owned by a Church in Forsyth

A firefighter is hospitalized after being injured while battling a fire in a strip mall that housed a church in Forsyth.

Forsyth firefighters were called to the 3:16 Church at the corner of U-S 160 and Coy Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

The building received extensive damage, but a firewall and firefighting efforts helped keep the flames from spreading to the church itself.

The firefighter was taken to a Springfield hospital.

Nobody was in the building at the time.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
