Former Health Care Worker Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Crimes

A former Greene County health care worker pleaded guilty in court to exploitation of a child.

Sergio Jonathan Ortiz pleaded guilty Monday to sexual exploitation of a minor after he was caught filming a young girl in the bathroom of a home he was working in.

Ortiz worked as a home health care worker and was caring for a disabled child at the time of the incident.

According to investigators, while at the home, the children’s mother caught Ortiz filming her other daughter in the bathroom taking a bath.

Authorities were alerted, and when they conducted their investigation, found dozens of videos and pictures that were deemed inappropriate and sexual in nature.

No sentencing for Ortiz’ case has been released at this time.
