Greene County Money Issues Decided In Tuesday’s Election

It was a mixed bag of results for money issues decided by voters in Greene County on Tuesday.

In Fair Grove, a use tax for general revenue purposes failed because the yes and no votes (90 votes each) tied.

Voters in the Ebenezer Fire Protection District said yes to a six million dollar bond issue to replace the district’s headquarters and update equipment to serve the 118 square-mile district.

Yes: 66.79%

No: 33.21%

Strafford Fire Protection District voters passed an eight million dollar bond issue for renovating and replacing fire stations and emergency vehicles. The main focus of funds will be to update and renovate fire station #2. The bond also includes adding another fire station on the south side of the city.

Yes: 62.09 %

No: 37.91%
