Residents in a Springfield neighborhood were evacuated due to a gas leak.
Springfield Police say a car crashed into a gas main at East Cherokee and South Kentwood Avenue which caused the leak.
Springfield Fire Department helped evacuated the homes in the neighborhood.
C-U has shut off the gas until it’s repaired.
The driver was not injured in the crash.
