Investigation Into SPD Officer-Involved Crash

An investigation has determined that a Springfield Police vehicle involved in a crash on March 22nd entered an intersection on a red light at a high rate of speed.

Officer Isaiah Houseknecht had his emergency lights and siren on when he collided with another vehicle at Kansas Expressway and Battlefield.

An investigation determined that vehicle entered the intersection on a green light.

The Springfield Police department is conducting an internal investigation into Officer Houseknecht’s actions.
