Investigators are trying to determine how a jet-fueled racing truck caught fire during testing in Springfield.
The Strafford Fire Department was called to the scene at around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday night after the “Aftershock” jet fire truck became engulfed in flames.
Witnesses say the truck was undergoing testing for an upcoming race when the fire started.
The owner of the truck, Flash Fire Jet Truck, says the driver of the vehicle suffered minor burns and was taken to a local urgent care for evaluation and treatment.
It is the second incident involving a Flash Fire Jet Truck vehicle. In 2022, Chris Darnell was driving the companies other vehicle “Shockwave” when it caught fire at a show in Detroit. Darnell was killed.
The truck was a total loss.
