A man was seriously injured in an accident while kayaking on the James River near Galena over the weekend.
The Highway Patrol says 72-year-old Thomas Forehand of Joplin became pinned against a tree in the river.
He fell out of the kayak and became pinned under a log.
He was taken to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries.
