A man from Springfield is facing a felony harassment charge after threatening a business over a moldy chocolate bar.

Online court dockets show that Obadiah Gower is charged with first-degree harassment after Springfield police received a report of harassment from a business manager.

The manager alleged that Gower repeatedly called two locations starting around 5:45 pm and even continued while the SPD officer was on the scene.

Gower claimed that he was sold a moldy chocolate bar from the business’ Sunshine Street location and was requesting a $400 refund.

The manager explained that the refund was not feasible but that the business could replace the bar.

Gower began threatening to blow up the locations, telling the manager to watch out for their employees and threatening to beat him up.

Officers reportedly encountered a call from Gower during their investigation at the location, where he admitted to the harassment and said that he would continue calling and making threats.

Gower is set to appear in court on August 11.
