A man from Alabama will spend several years in prison for stabbing another man at Houlihan’s in Springfield.
Prosecutors say 44-year-old Matthew Salter confronted the victim at the bar of Houlihan’s north Glenstone location in April of 2023 after the victim allegedly tried to have a conversation with him.
Witnesses say he became enraged, drew a knife and stabbed the man in the side.
Salter pleaded guilty to first-degree assault charges earlier this year, and was sentenced Thursday to four years in prison.
