A man from Buffalo is facing multiple charges of arson after starting several fires near a home in Dallas County.
Authorities say Christopher Goodman was arrested on Sunday, February 11 after a call came in from a person that said there backyard was on fire.
The witness told police that Goodman approached the front door of the house and knocked, but they did not answer.
The witness then realized their backyard was on fire and called police.
When officers arrived, they saw smoke coming from nearby, and discovered a building in flames as well as a pile of brush.
Close to the area of that building, a telephone pole was also on fire.
While investigating those scenes, police saw a man fitting Goodman’s description fleeing the area.
A witness to the fires took Goodman to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, where he reportedly confessed to the crimes.
He is charged with two counts of second-degree arson and two counts of knowingly burning or exploding, all of which are felony charges.
Goodman is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $50,000 bond and had a court hearing scheduled for this morning at 11:00 a.m.
