Man from Camden County Dies After Accidentally Shooting Himself

Police say a man from Camden County is dead after accidentally shooting himself at his home.

Reports say the victim was cleaning his gun at his home in Linn Creek when it went off.

Officers say the name of the victim has not yet been released.

Sergeant Scott Hines with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind gun owners to always check your weapon to ensure that it is not loaded.

Experts say that while cleaning your gun is one of the most important things you can do for your gun, you must always do so in a safe manner.
