Sales Tax on Strafford Ballot November 8th

A three quarter cent sales tax will be on the November 8th ballot for residents of Strafford, MO.

If passed, the money would be used to attract and retain police officers.

City administrator Martha Smartt says the police department needs 7 officers to be fully staffed, but currently has only 4 officers. Smartt says the police department has not had an increase in the general sales tax since 1980.
