Man from Christian County Shot, Killed in Shootout with U.S. Marshals in Michigan

A man from Christian County is dead following a standoff and shootout with authorities in Michigan.

Investigators say U.S. Marshals were called to an area of Chippewa County in upper Michigan, where they identified the suspect as Giovanni McNab.

McNab was wanted in Christian County for parental kidnapping charges, after taking his children from their permanent home.

Marshals formed a perimeter around the building, waiting for him to come out.

When McNab exited the home, he opened fire on authorities, shooting on deputy Marshal.

Investigators say Marshal’s returned fire, shooting and killing him.

A woman inside the home was taken into custody. The two children were recovered from the home and transported to the custody of Child Protective Services.
