A man from Kansas is dead after investigators say he drowned in Stockton Lake over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Highway Patrol troopers say 60-year-old Craig Olsen was swimming near a pontoon boat Saturday evening near the Stockton Dam when he went underwater and never resurfaced.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cedar County Deputy Corner later that evening, and next of kin has been notified.
It is the third drowning in MSHP Troop D’s area so far this year.
