Man from Springfield Arrested, Charged Following Hostage Situation

A man from Springfield is facing multiple charges for allegedly holding another man hostage for over an hour and beating him.

Investigators say Dinzel Coble had broken into a home near Sunshine and Holland at around 10:00 p.m. the night of February 24.

Coble was reported as the uncle of the victim’s estranged wife.

The victim told authorities that he and two others held him against his will for over an hour, hitting him “…at least 200 times”.

At this time, only Coble has been identified publicly as a suspect. He is charged with burglary, kidnapping, two counts of assault, and armed criminal action.

Springfield Police say the victim suffered “serious head and neck injuries” as well as numerous cuts and severe bruising.
