What We Know: A 79-year-old man from Springfield is dead after a two-vehicle crash at Glenstone and Chestnut Expressway.
What It Means: Springfield police say William Huey was pulling out of a parking lot and turning left onto Glenstone around 3:15 Tuesday afternoon when his Ford Escort was hit by a southbound vehicle.
Huey died at the scene.
The other driver, 23-year-old Malik Waite of Springfield, and a passenger in Huey’s car were taken to the hospital.
Police are still investigating what led to the crash.
This was Springfield’s 13th fatal crash of the year, resulting in the city’s 14th traffic death.
