A man from Springfield will now await sentencing after being found guilty of murder.

Prosecutors say 59-year-old Jerome Poole was found guilty of second-degree murder charges on November 13.

Poole called police the morning of March 7, 2023, telling dispatchers a woman was dead in his home.

When officers arrived, they found the woman with cuts, bruises and other marks on her body.

She was also missing her, which was found in her own hands and on the bedroom floor.

The woman was later identified as 41-year-old Springfield native Crystal Dye.

Investigators say an autopsy on her body confirmed signs of strangulation and multiple rib fractures.

He will be sentenced in March of next year.
