UPDATE: Man from Stone County Shot Dead, Wife in Custody

UPDATE:

Stone County Sheriff’s deputies are now saying that the woman in custody in connection with the shooting death of a man near Crane was the man’s wife.

The identity of the two have still not been released to the public, but authorities did acknowledge a history of calls made to the home for domestic reasons in the past.

Investigators in Stone County are trying to determine how, and why, a man was killed near Crane.

Sheriff’s deputies say a 50-year-old man, who’s identity has not been made public, was discovered along Elm Springs Road, just off Highway 413 at around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Reports are he was shot and killed by a shotgun.

Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader says a woman was arrested near Verona County in connection with the death and was transported back to Stone County.
