The Melville Road Bridge over I-44 in Springfield will be closed for up to 140 days, beginning Monday.
MoDOT says the 65-year-old bridge is being demolished and replaced.
As part of the project, all lanes of I-44, both east and westbound, will be shut down beginning this Friday night, July 11th, at 9:00pm.
Traffic will be detoured through alternate routes, with that closure lasting through at least Saturday night at 9:00, but no later than 6:00am Monday, July 14th.
