Missouri employers are not forced to provide a lunch break under law, but that may be changing very soon.
Representative Kevin Windham Jr of St. Louis County introduced HB 2856 which would require employers to provide a 30 minute break to all workers about halfway through a shift lasting eight hours or more. If passed, employers found violating the law would be fined $300 to $1,200.
The bill currently has not yet been assigned to a committee for reading.
