The State Board of Education voted to keep its 2028 school funding request at about 4-point-28 billion dollars.
What It Means: That’s about 270 million dollars less than what state education officials say is needed to fully fund the formula.
Republic Superintendent Tyler Overstreet says his district has been preparing for the possibility of less state money and does not expect any immediate cuts.
