Missouri Woman Released From Jail After Being Wrongly Convicted For 43 Years

A woman from Missouri who served 43 years in prison for murder before her conviction was overturned has now been released.

Missouri Attorney Andrew Bailey sought to keep Sandra Hemme in prison, but the Judge threatened top hold his office in contempt of court if it continued to fight her release.

Hemme’s attorney’s at The Innocence Project say she had been the longest held wrongly imprisoned woman in the U.S. before her release.
