Republicans won more local state representative races than they lost, but a couple of challengers had near misses in trying to beat their Democrat opponents.

In the 132nd district, Republican Stephanos Freeman lost to Democrat Jeremy Dean by just over 300 votes.

In District 136, Republican challenger Jim Robinette fell to Democrat Stephanie Hein by fewer than 350 votes.

In the 135th district, Democrat incumbent Betsy Fogle beat Republican challenger Michael Hasty with nearly 55 percent of the vote.

GOP incumbent state reps had a much easier time winning their races, including Bishop Davidson in District 130, Bill Owen in District 131, Melanie Stinnett in District 133, Bob Titus in District 139, and Jamie Ray Gragg in District 140.

Melissa Schmidt easily won her race in the 141st District.
