One Arrested After Stabbing In Republic

Man is under arrest after a stabbing at a house in Republic.

Police say 18-year-old Matthew Whittenburg of Cassville is charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, and fourth-degree domestic assault.

Witnesses told police that Whittenburg allegedly had a disagreement with the victim over Whittenburg’s ex-girlfriend before stabbing him.

Witnesses told police that everyone had been drinking at the time of the incident.

Whittenburg is in the Greene County Jail.
