One Person Dead Following Car Crash Along I-44 in Joplin

Authorities are investigating a deadly car crash that killed a woman from Oklahoma in Joplin.

Officers say the crash happened Friday night at around 11:00 p.m. when 24-year-old Rachel Binford hit the back of a semi-truck near the Highway 43 exit.

After hitting the back of the semi, Binford’s car then drove off the road. The Stillwater, Oklahoma native was pronounced dead at the scene.

Joplin Police were on the scene quickly, having been in a nearby parking lot at the time of the crash.

The driver and passenger inside the semi-truck were not injured.
