The Ozark Police Department is searching for new recruits for its force, so they are holding an open testing event.
In a statement from the City of Ozark, the testing will take place this Saturday, October 26, on the track at Ozark Junior High off West Jackson Street and 12th Street.
It will start at 8:00am, where recruits will perform several physical fitness tests. Those participating will be expected to perform:
- A 1.5 miles run with a time under 17:01
- A 300-meter spring with a time under 75 seconds
- A minimum of 25 sit-ups in one minute
- A minimum of 20 push-ups in one minute
Those who are able to pass the fitness portion of the testing phase, will move on to a written exam, with interviews to be conducted in-person that same day.
To qualify for the open testing, you must be:
- At least 21 years of age before being sworn in
- A U.S. citizen
- No felony convictions
- No DWI convictions in the past three years, and no more than one DWI conviction
- A high school diploma or GED
