Pedestrian Hit in Springfield Has Died

Springfield Police say a pedestrian died after being struck by two vehicles on July 11th at the intersection of Sunshine Street and Moore Road.

Police identified the victim 30-year-old Jose Tumax-Sapon of Springfield.

The initial investigation shows Tumax-Sapon was hit while walking on Sunshine by a 2015 Subaru Forester around 1:35 a.m.

A second vehicle traveling behind the Subaru also struck the man.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died. The driver of the Subaru was arrested for D-W-I.

Anyone with information about the other vehicle should contact the Springfield Police Department.
