A Southwest Missouri woman is in the Greene County Jail after several puppies died after being left in her car overnight.
Court records say 30-year-old Macey Casteel of Pittsburg is charged with 13 counts of animal abuse.
Springfield Police received a call Sunday morning about several crates of puppies in a parked car at Battlefield and Fort.
Police checked on them and opened the door.
It was 100 degrees inside the car.
Casteel said she was on her way to Oklahoma to sell them when she went to visit a friend.
Only 3 out of the 13 puppies survived.
