Greene County Deputies arrested a man Tuesday for breaking into what they believed was a vacant home. When they arrived, the situation was more serious.
Authorities were called to the 4000 block of East Kearney near North Eastgate Avenue for a reported trespassing. When they arrived, they found John Yaggy, who had barricaded himself inside the home.
While deputies originally thought the house was vacant, they later learned that the occupant of the home was still inside. As authorities attempted to enter the home, they were able to get the woman out of the house safely.
Once inside the home, Yaggy began to get combative with law enforcement and had to be restrained by the use of a K9 unit.
Yaggy has been charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest.
