What We Know: Police in Aurora are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the 500 block of South Porter Avenue, where they found a man suffering from stab wounds.

The victim was airlifted to a Springfield hospital. Police say he is expected to survive.

What It Means: Investigators say the suspect left before officers arrived and could still be somewhere in the Aurora area. Police say he may also be injured and bleeding.

Officers recovered a knife believed to have been used in the stabbing.

Police say the suspect may have changed clothes and could be wearing a white sweatshirt and black cap. His shoes were found near the scene, so he may be barefoot.

Investigators also believe he may have been picked up by someone driving a silver Kia van without a license plate.

Police are warning people not to approach the suspect. Anyone with information should call Aurora Police at 417-678-5025 or 911.
