The largest gas station chain in North America is officially open for business, for the first time, in Springfield.

Buc-ee’s Springfield location opened early Monday morning for residents and patrons in the area off of I-44 along Beaver Road.

Also Monday morning, city leaders, including Mayor Ken McClure, and creater of the convenience store giant, “Beaver” Aplin, were part of a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Aplin mentioned his excitement for becoming a part of the Ozarks and Springfield community, while McClure and other officials mentioned the economic impact and vitality the business will bring the area.

It is, as of this point, the northernmost Buc-ee’s in the United States. The 53,000 square foot facility will bring an estimated $30 million annually to the Springfield community.
